“Edges”

This is the one that really started this series for me. It directly relates to my painting “Lava” as the next step in this imagery/theme. It’s very much about the dualities between nature and people, organic vs. man made, and illusions relating to those ideas.

This was the first large scale painting I ever sold. (I had sold other drawings.) A family had seen my work at one of the many art festivals I had participated in downtown. 6 months later, they approached me at Target, asking “Are you the person who painted ‘Edges?'” It was a great moment for me as an artist.

Oil on Canvas. 2008.
